You Feel Like Shit: An Interactive Self-Care Guide

Check-in question: Who is feeling pretty overwhelmed these days? Stressed out? Tired? Just generally not great at all?

You are not alone! Between world events, the economy, and the fact that we are in another election year, I know many of us (myself included) are having a more difficult time managing taking care of ourselves while still handling all our day-to-day tasks and responsibilities. The world is on fire, yet we all still have bills to pay and relationships to maintain.

YouFeelLikeShit: An Interactive Self-Care Guide is a fantastic online checklist for those moments when you need to feel better as soon as possible and have no idea where to start. Freelance writer Jace Harr created this flowchart and kindly shared it online for free ( but here is a link to their Paypal to keep it going with donations if you find it helpful and would like it to stay online). For those of us with executive function issues or anyone needing help picking a starting point, this flowchart will break down physical and emotional self-care into small steps that can feel much easier to achieve when we need help most. It’s very simple, but sometimes, just going back to the basics and getting helpful reminders to make sure we eat a snack, drink some water (or some unsweet iced tea over ice, if you’re me), wash your face, and reach out to a friend can make a significant positive difference in our mood and help us reset and reground again.

This guide works very well on cell phones/tablets, so you can keep this link bookmarked and use it anywhere. Thanks again to Jace for creating and sharing this helpful resource!
